Police Point Firearms At Kluckin Films and Bloody Racket Films

On September 29, 2010 Kluckin Films president Dwayne King, Bloody Racket Films president Nathan Clements and actor Joey Grazaino were filming a scene for the feature film “Buster Jones by Bloody Racket Films. The location of the day was Punch Bowl, in Conway SC. Upon arrival the film crew informed the spectators that this was a movie set and today they will be filming a movie.

The onlookers watched, in awe, as the crew filmed an action scene which consisted of a gun fight. The Professional Prop guns and fake blood. The makeup, real sounding prop guns and acting must have been convincing, because one of the witnesses called the Horry Co. Police to report it.

Kluckin Films and Bloody Racket Films finished shooting the scene, gathered up their belongings and left. Upon passing a convenient store, a short distance away from the set, they noticed that there were several Horry Co. Police officers who drove away from the store and pulled the Film Crew’s car over.

What happened next still hasn’t sunk in. Five Horry County Police cars pulled them over and then surrounded them. One law enforcement officer exited his car and stood behind the drivers door, of his patrol car, while brandishing his firearm Pointing his firearm at the driver, Nathan Clements, the officer barked the orders orders “Driver throw the keys out the window, put your hands out the window, Get out of the car, get on your belly and crawl over here to me.”  Next Dwayne King, sitting in the front passenger seat, was ordered “Passenger put your hands out the window, get out of the car put your hands in the air and your back to me, walk backward towards my voice”. Joey Grazaino, who was sitting in the back seat, was told “Passenger if you do not get out quicker we will shoot and kill you, put their hands up in the air and walk backward to the officer”.

All three suspects cooperated again upon being ordered to lay on the ground. Several officers held firearms pointing them at the film crew. The each member of the independent film crew were then searched and placed in individual handcuffs. Dwayne King and Joey Grazaino were stuffed into one police car and Nathan Clements into another. Two of the police cars left the scene.

Each member of the film crew were read their Miranda rights before being questioned about what they were doing and why they all were covered in stage blood. Dwayne, Nathan, and Joey disclosed that they had just finished filming a scene for the movie “Buster Jones” at the Punch Bowl.

The weather did not fit the scene as some of the police officers searched the film crew’s vehicle. The doors and trunk remained wide open and exposed to the downpour that had already drenched everyone. A great discovery of a fake head in the trunk ensued in jokes, laughter between the investigating officers, then the officers were witnessed posing for photos with the fake head.

It was later discovered, through observation, by the cuffed men, that the two officers, who had left the scene while they were being questioned, had gone to the Punch Bowl to look for dead bodies. The investigators discovered fake blood at the scene, but no dead bodies. They reported finding a couple at the Punch Bowl who attested they are the ones who called the police and that the film crew had informed them a film was being made before the filming began. The three were released from their restraints and allowed to go on their addled way.

Local Film Crew Shot At By Underage Drunk Boys

On Sunday May 2nd 2010 we went to Surfside Jenny’s, a local restaurant located at 1013 Glenns Bay Rd. Surfside Beach, SC to film a scene for our up coming film ZOMBIE ROAD. The location had been secured for two weeks.

We arrive thrilled to be filming yet another scene.
Our hearts sunk when we pull in. The 5 or 6 under age kids perched on the porch, drinking alcohol, were not of our approval. We do not condone underage drinking, for starters. The owner stepped out of the door to tell us to go on ahead inside. Upon his queue we did go in and start to set up the scene. Dwayne King started applying zombie makeup on one of our actress’s Michele Edge, also known as Betty Bombshell; one of the local Roller Derby team members.

After about 50 minutes the entire crews’ lives were suddenly in danger.
The owners son stormed into the restaurant (intoxicated) grabbed Dwayne’s tripod and hurled it out the front door and proceeded to tell everyone “Get the fuck out“. He exited the restaurant, grabbed a .22 rifle and fired into the restaurant. Our cast & crew consisted of about 14 people, to include a 2year old baby. One of our makeup and special effects artists (Jeff Bracey) was assaulted as he was exiting to leave the premises. After Bracey was hit on back of the head with the rifle another kid, brandishing a .9 mm, was there pointing it at us to ensure we were leaving.

Once the cops arrived; and exited their patrol cars with their guns drawn, they discovered that the shooters were just children. One of which is the owners son. The owner, who happens to be an ex police officer, informed us that unless they find a shell casing, the legal system could do nothing. No one went to jail. Yes we’re fucking freaked out!!!

If any one knows anyone has a small restaurant that we can use to film this scene we would be more than grateful for the privilege to use it.
We are a civil group of people who like to make movies and create art. All we are asking for is a safe and secure location which we can create our art and do what we love to do. We are all good people who would not hurt a living soul.

To the cast and crew that were there today we do apologize that this happened.
We are formulating a plan to ensure that nothing like this will ever happen again. This is a first for us. Never, in the 11 years of filmmaking, have we had our lives put in danger or assaulted while filming.
